I’ve had a few questions about what dolls my miniature Whimsy Witch Hats may fit best. From my experience, measurements alone just don’t always work with dolls. Their firmly shaped heads vary in very different ways from their human counterparts.
So…. I did a few try-ons.
The results…..
My Miniature Whimsy Witch Hats seem to best fit antique and reproduction dolls in the 18 to 19 inch sizes. I am pleased with how both the cloth hats and straw hats fit both of my 18-19″ reproduction dolls with low side hair placement. If anything, they are a tad large.
The fit is closer for the higher hair placement on Cali. I would consider this fit nearly ideal.
The fit is too small for my 20-22″ antique and reproduction dolls. Here Mary shows the fit is just too small.
My current Miniature Whimsy Witch Hats do not fit modern 18 inch dolls such as American Girl Dolls. They are an inch, or maybe even two, too small. This model has her hair in a Regency Era high bun style. But, even if it was down, I don’t think the fit would be right.
